Carved with chainsaw from a one piece of Solid Poplar Wood*, hand finished with chisels. Tanned with fire (yakisugi**) and painted with black paint. (Durable and very easy to keep clean.) \r

*(Poplar is a light wood but very strong and hard to break.) \r

** (Yakisugi (焼杉) is a traditional Japanese method of wood preservation. By slightly charring the surface of the wood without combusting the whole piece, the wood becomes water-proof through the carbonisation and is thus more durable. It also protects against insects, as well as making the wood fire retardant.) \r
