RABBI AVRAHAM YITZCHAK KOHN – REBBE OF TOLDOS AHARON (1914-1997) – Sharply worded letter.

A sharply worded letter addressed by the Toldos Ahron Rebbe to the management of his Yeshiva after students had engaged in violent activity, detailing the punishments for the perpetrators. ‘To the management of the Yeshiva. Regarding the disturbances that they carried out on Motzei Shabbos and on Sunday; the two whom I punished with a fine of five pounds – additionally, it is forbidden for them to come to me anywhere throughout the summer. Those bochurim who threw stones from the dormitory have no permission to eat fofromrm the kitchen or to enter the dormitory during the day or night, till Sunday of Parshas Mattos-Masei, and whoever transgresses this order shall not be allowed to enter the Beis Hamedrash for four weeks.’

Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Kohn was the founder of the Toldos Ahron chassidic dynasty, son-in-law of Rabbi Ahron Roth – author of Shomer Emunim. The Toldos Avraham Yitzchak community is led by his son and named after him. Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Kohn was born in Tzefas and was a descendant of its venerated Rabbi Shmuel Heller. Disciple of Rabbi Yisrael Freund of Huniad, Rabbi Yehuda Rosner of Sekelyhed and Rabbi Yoel Teitelbaum of Satmar of whom he was a staunch follower. Chosen as successor to his father-in-law by a majority of his chassidim, and founder of Toldos Ahron communities and institutions.
