RABBI CHAIM SHMULEVITZ (1903-1979), ROSH YESHIVA OF MIR YESHIVA IN JERUSALEM – HANDWRITTEN APPROBATION TO SEFER BIKUREI ERETZ, BY RABBI AVRAHAM YITZCHAK TUCKER.

Manuscript signed letter of approbation to part two of Sefer Bikurei Eretz.

Rabbi Chaim Shmulevitz, son of Rabbi Refael Shmulevitz, Rosh Yeshiva of Novardok and grandson of Rabbi Yosef Yozel Horowitz – the ‘Alter’ of Novardok. Known in his youth as the ‘Stutziner Illuy’ (the genius of Stutzin – the name of the town where he grew up). Son-in-law of Rabbi Eliezer Yehuda Finkel, Rosh Yeshiva of Mir. Lecturer at the Yeshiva from 1936 and head of the Yeshiva (together with Rabbi Yechezkel Lewenstein) during its wartime exile and rescue via Shanghai. Succeeded his father-in-law as Rosh Yeshiva in 1965. Renowned for his remarkable diligence and extraordinary mastery of Talmud and its commentaries.

Bikurei Eretz is a commentary to Massechta Brachos by Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Tucker, Menahel of the Chevron Yeshiva.

Written on official stationery of the Mir Yeshiva. 20x26 cm. Excellent condition .
