RABBI CHAIM TZVI TEITELBAUM (1881-1926), REBBE OF SIGHET, AUTHOR OF ATZEI CHAIM, LETTER TO R. DOV EHRMAN, AUTHOR OF DEVARIM AREIVIM .
In this letter, the Rebbe of Sighet thanks Rabbi Ehrman for sending 50,000 kronen towards the wedding expenses of one of the Rebbe’s children, and blesses him with success in all his undertakings.
Rabbi Chaim Tzvi Teitelbaum, son of Rabbi Chananya Yomtov Lippa – author of Kedushas Yomtov and Rabbi and Rebbe of Sighet, and son-in-law of Rabbi Shalom Eliezer Halberstam, Rebbe of Ratzfert. Rabbi Chaim Tzvi was renowned for his Torah scholarship, saintliness and modesty, and succeeded his father as Rebbe of the Chassidic dynasty of Sighet and Rabbi of the town at the age of 24. He led his community and followers with great devotion and they were all deeply distressed at his sudden passing at the age of 45, while visiting Kleinwardein.
