RABBI ASHER ANSHEL JUNGREISZ (1882-1944) – RABBI OF GYÖNGÖS .

WWI interesting rabbinical correspondence. Rabbi Jungreisz’s sister had promised to fast every
Monday and Thursday until the end of WWI, but her health no longer allowed her to continue with
this practice. Can the vow be annulled?

Rabbi Shimon Grunfeld, disciple of his father Rabbi Yehuda – Rabbi of Szenhimihaly, and of
Maharam Schick, leading Hungarian halachic authority, known by the acronym ‘Maharshag’. Dayan
in Munkascz and from 1907 successor to his father as Rabbi of Szenhimihaly. Author of Shaalos
U’Teshuvos Maharshag (2 vols.).

Rabbi Asher Anshel Jungreisz, son of Rabbi Moshe Nassan – Rabbi of Tissa Fired, author of Toras
Moshe Nassan, Rabbi of Gyöngös (1899), author of Zachor Veshamor, and editor of his father’s
rabbinical writings.

[3] sides in handwriting 15x22 cm on official stationery. Good condition. Stains. Taped in a few
places, affecting a few letters.
