RABBI YEKUSIEL YEHUDA TEITELBAUM (1912-1944) – RABBI OF SIGHET – SIGNED AND STAMPED POSTCARD.

A signed and stamped postcard acknowledging receipt of funds from the Ezras Torah relief organisation in New York.

Rabbi Yekusiel Yehuda Teitelbaum was a son of Rabbi Chaim Tzvi Teitelbaum – Rabbi of Sighet, author of Atzei Chaim and leader of the Sighet chassidic group. Appointed successor to his father at the age of 14, he was soon recognised as a worthy leader of his community and Yeshiva. Son-in-law of his uncle Rabbi Yoel Teitelbaum of Satmar. Risked his life to shelter illegal Jewish refugees during WWII. Author of Yad Yekusiel.
