Silver prints, the first two images measuring 3x4¾ inches (9.2x12.1 cm.), the sheets slightly larger, the third 9½x7½ inches (24.1x19.1 cm.), the mount 17x11 inches (43.2x27.9 cm.), the smaller with Steiner's signature and dates, in pencil, on verso, and the larger with his signature, in pencil, on mount recto. 1921, 1924, 1936; printed 1980
The present owners acquired these photographs directly from Ralph Steiner after working with him in 1977 to create printed pieces for the portfolio Ten Photographs from the Twenties and Thirties & One From the Seventies.> There were two sheets included in each portfolio: a biography by Williard Van Dyke and descriptions of each of the 11 photographs.
