19th C. Fraternal sword. Knight's Templar Masonic & Fraternal Order of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows sword named to "Ralph W. Trine" sword. Etched blade with a gold tone background. Maker marked ricasso "The Henderson Ames Co, Kalamazoo, Mich". Gilt fittings. Celluloid handle. Gilt steel scabbard. Named on the blade and scabbard. Ralph Waldo Trine, Born Oct 26, 1866 and Died Nov 08, 1958, was an American Philosopher, author and teacher. Trine Was a close friend to Henry Ford. Trine's primary work "In Tune with The Infinite" was published in 1897. Bobbs-Merrill published a commemorative book "The Best of Ralph Waldo Trine" in 1957.
