RARE 1943 WWII US Property Stamped Colt Woodsman Bullseye Match Target .22 LR Semi-Auto Pistol

Manufactured in 1943 for the war relief. Features a 6-5/8" blued heavy barrel, with "Kelly type" front sight and rear sight that is adjustable for windage and elevation. Matte finish top of the barrel, frame and slide. Left side panel of the barrel is stamped "MATCH TARGET" with the iconic bullseye. The top of the barrel is stamped with the Colt Hartford address and patent number in two un-equal lines. Colt commercial blued frame with "THE WOODSMAN/U.S. PROPERTY" markings on the left side and "G.H.D." on the right side. Ordnance final inspection marks stamped on the right side. Manufactured between July 1943 and December 1943. This pistol is one of an estimated 3,962 Colt Woodsman Match Target pistols purchased by the U.S. Military during WWII. The majority of these pistols were acquired by the U.S. Navy. The serial number "MT14686" is located on the front of the grip strap. The left side of the slide is roll-stamped with the legend "COLT AUTOMATIC/CAL..22 LONG RIFLE" followed by the Rampant Colt trademark. The left side of the trigger guard bow is stamped with an "e" assembler's mark above the Colt "VP/triangle" proof mark. The pistol is fitted with brown plastic checkered grips with molded Colt medallions. Fitted with a fully blued 10 round magazine marked "COLT WOODSMAN/CAL. 22. L.R." on the base. CALIBER: .22 LR. S/N: MT14686. FFL STATUS: Curio & Relic.
Condition Report: The barrel retains 85% original blue with most wear at the muzzle and along high edges. The frame and slide retains 80% original blue with most wear on the grip strap and along the high edges. The grips are 90% condition, showing some light wear near the bottom but checkering is still crisp. Good bore and mechanics.
