RARE ADAMS 1851 LONDON DRAGOON REVOLVER
NSN. Barrel length 9". Bore .52. Offered is an excellent example of the scarce London Adams Dragoon large caliber five shot double action percussion revolver. This was a popular handgun throughout the South during the war. This is the largest bore Adams made and hence, they were referred to as Dragoons. Features include a full octagon barrel., spur less hammer, light engraving on frame, one piece checkered walnut grips with engraved cap and bullet trap. Top of frame has Leige license by Adams of London with Adams patent on right side of frame. Revolver is untouched and the metal is now a soft and crisp brown patina. Gun indexes and locks up tight but needs a new trigger return spring. Grips are excellent. Bore is sharp. (A)
