RARE CONFEDERATE STATES ARMORY STAFF & FIELD OFFICERS

Made at the Confederate States Armory in Kennansville, NC. This sword features "CSA" pierced into the brass guard. Roman numeral "VI" craved into the edge of the guard. Has "JHS" period scratched into the outer knuckle bow. Numerous small casting flaws in the brass as one would want to see. Narrow blade variation. Unfortunately there is no scabbard with this rare sword. CONDITION: Blade has a pleasing patina, showing evidence of having been sharpened a long time ago. Brass guard was cleaned at some time and is now starting to mellow out. Wood handle has some chips and wear, no leather or wire wrap remaining. Hilt is tight.
