RARE, DESIRABLE, ALL MATCHING REMINGTON MODEL 8

"PEACE OFFICER EQUIPMENT" SEMI AUTO RIFLE. Cal. 35 Rem. S# 69282. Following the prohibition era of the 1920s when gangsters, bootleggers and criminals seemed to consistently overwhelm their law enforcement counterparts with firepower and sheer magazine capacity, it was clear that service revolvers and other standard issue weaponry were in serious need of an upgrade if law enforcement officials were to keep up. The Peace Officer Equipment Company stationed in St. Joseph, MO produced a conversion of the Model 8 rifle consisting of a detachable magazine of either 5, 10 or 15 rounds along with an extended forearm which was necessary to manage the recoil produced from firing in rapid succession, especially in the potent 35 Remington. Blued rifle with sporting sights & 22" barrel. Smooth walnut 10.25" forend with pistol grip buttstock having checkered steel Remington buttplate. MAGS: 1 - 15 matching mag.
