The glazed hood with triangular pediment over a waisted trunk and base, each with lift-out glazed front panels on a concave base with twin steady screws, the 26cms white enamel Roman dial signed LAURENZ POPPENBERGER IN WIEN with minute band and shaped blued steel hands, (the minute counter-weighted), with subsidiary dial for running seconds, framed by a deep cast ormolu bezel of palmettes and flower heads, the substantial movement with thick plates united by four heavy turned pillars, the large going barrel with maintaining power to a train of five wheels terminating in a 'scape wheel of five crossings with deadbeat escapement to a long crutch with beat adjustment to the very heavy nine-bar gridiron pendulum (5 steel, 4 brass) suspended from a bracket on the backboard and terminating in a 23cms diameter lenticular bob with engraved rating nut. The weight running on a six-spoke pulley. Running, last serviced in 2020. 158cms high.
