RARE RUSSIAN IMPERIAL PRESENTATION JETON

Ca. AD 1894 - 1917. A Russian Imperial regimental presentation jeton in the form of a miniature sabretache, suspended from three gold braid straps fitted with rectangular buckles and chevron-shaped mounts and joined to a ring with an upper hook fitting. The trapezoidal body has a red guilloche enamel field enclosed by applied silver zigzag and rope-twist borders. At the centre is the crowned cypher N II of Emperor Nicholas II in applied silver. The reverse is engraved with a five-line dedicatory inscription. Size: 170mm x 40mm; Weight: 55g Provenance: Prince Collection, 1990s?2014; Ex. Sotheby's, 9 Nov. 2000, lot 93.
