RARE SERIAL NUMBERED WWII GERMAN M1933 SS DAGGER
BY EICKHORN.A fine serial numbered WWII German M1933 SS dagger with an overall length of 14 3/4" with a blade that is etched "Meine Ehre Heisst Treue" and measures just shy of 9". The blade is marked on the reverse " CARL EICKHORN (logo) SOLINGEN ". The nickel silver crossguard markrd " III " on the reverse and is stamped " 202950 " on the underside. There is, of course, a matching nickel silver pommel guard. The blackened wood grip has an inset eagle and a black enameled SS button near the top. Scabbard shows a black anodized finish with nickel silver mounts and a M1933 style hanger. CONDITION: blade shows scabbard wear and some probable buffing marks. It is possible the buffing indicates this may be a ground Rohm blade, but this is only supposition. Mounts retain nearly all of their original finish and the grip is undamaged. Scabbard shows overall wear some loss of finish, and the ball at the base of the scabbard has a few dents at the extreme base. The top strap on the hanger is broken. It is quite rare to find serial numbered traceable examples. (02-27635/BF). $3,000-5,000.
