PRODUCED. Cal. 38-70 WCF. S# 99993. Bbl. 26" rnd. bbl. Dovetail half nickel front sight & dovetail adj. rear sight. Uncheckered forend & uncheckered straight grip w/ steel crescent buttplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Cody Firearms Museum letter providing the following information "Type: Rifle / Caliber: 38/70 / Barrel Type: Round / Trigger: Plain / Received in warehouse May 14, 1895 / Shipped from warehouse on April 16, 1900". CONDITION: bbl. retains added old blue, thinning & blending w/ brown patina in a few areas. Minor surface oxidation at muzzle. Mag. tube has original blue toning w/ brown patina. Receiver has faded & worn to a silver blending w/ gray patina. Forend has light coat of added finish w/ some nicks, dings & dents. Buttstock has light coat of added finish w/ some nicks & scratches.
