A well-carved and very rare white marble figure from the Sui or Tang Dynasty, depicting a standing Bodhisattva on a plinth. The facial features are very detailed, and both the hair and robes of the figure are elaborately jewelled and decorated. This figure is emblematic of the aesthetic of the Sui and Tang dynasties, where a more naturalistic approach to depictions of Buddhist deities was popular. This item comes with a custom-made stand.
