Circa 900-1100 AD. Viking Age. A beautiful gold ring comprising a circular band with dotted decoration and an elaborate bezel with coiled and ribbed decoration that takes the form of two owls faces. In Norse mythology some associate the owl with Frigg, the wife of Odin and goddess of wisdom, marriage, and fertility.
