RARE WESTERN ASIATIC BRONZE PIN WITH RAM TERMINAL
c. 1200 to 800 BC. Western Asiatic, Luristan culture. Extraordinarily elaborately worked out pin with a stylized ibex with cylindrical mouth, rolled goatee and high raised antlers with applied studs. The ibex originate from a bronze openwork sphere. A masterpiece of Luristan bronze art! The use of pins like this is uncertain; they were probably both used as votive offerings, but also worn as decoration or for fastening clothes. Good condition; beautiful patina.
