RARE YANKEES Stadium Groundbreaking Shovel
New York Yankees stadium bat-handled groundbreaking shovel. Groundbreaking for the new Yankee stadium started in April of 2006. This is a Louisville Slugger bat with George Steinbrenner's facsimile signature, with a ceremonial shovel at the end. About mint condition. Measures 52 1/4" long.

This item comes from the personal collection of Senior U.S. District Judge Elizabeth Kovachevich, presented to her by her personal friend, businessman and Yankees owner, George Steinbrenner (1930-2010). Proceeds from the sale of this item will be donated to the Gold Shield Foundation, an organization founded by Steinbrenner to provide assistance to surviving family members of Tampa Bay Area law enforcement or firefighters killed in the line of duty.
