Rich, deep brown glaze. Paper label on base inscribed "Gills-Potter cream jug Portsmouth-NH". Height 10".
Accompanied by a placard indicating brothers William Gill (1800-1853) and John H. Gill (1809-1888), both born in Boscawen, New Hampshire, operated a pottery in West Plymouth, New Hampshire until about 1847.
