REGENCY EBONY-INLAID MAHOGANY BOW-FRONT SIDEBOARD, C. 1815, H 36", W 70 1/2", D 22 1/2" The sightly bowed case with an unusual deeply curved back, fitted with a frieze drawer over an arch, flanked by two deep drawers, inlaid with ivory escutcheons, on ring-turned legs, originally fitted for an architectural niche.
Condition Report: Ivory is considered an endangered species. US Fish and Wildlife regulations may prelude the sale of this item. Appraised value assumes that proof of sale exists and verifies these items meet all requirements to be sold legally within the United States. The top of the sideboard has noticeable fading, scratches, and dark spots. At both sides of the kneehole, there is an age crack in the wood at the lower edge. The left side drawer front has a couple of age cracks approx 4" to 8" in size. The top center drawer has an age crack approx. 7" long. At the bottom 2" of each leg, there are scratches and wear, to the finish in these areas. The wood at the back of the sideboard has some age cracks. The condition is commensurate with age and use.
