The arched case with well figured veneers, with rear pilasters, the front supported on freestanding stylised Doric columns with ormolu capitals and bases, on a plinth and block feet, the 13.5cms diameter white enamel dial with minute track (marked in half-minutes) enclosing the Roman numerals and concentric date, with (replaced) centre seconds hand, the circular movement plates with shaped lower section united by four turned and pinned pillars, the single train with large going barrel driving wheels of four and six crossings via high-count pinions, the pin wheel escapement mounted on the backplate, with pins set on either side of the wheel and pallets mounted at the front and rear, to a heavy nine-bar gridiron pendulum mounted on a knife edge with 11.5cms lenticular brass bob. 47cms high
