The hood surmounted by a triangular pediment over a solid front panel incorporating the ormolu bezel cast with fleur de lys, over a waisted trunk with lift-out arched glazed door and a base with concave moulded section with twin steady screws, the 21cms white enamel dial with minute band and Roman numerals with blued steel hands (the minute counter-weighted), with running seconds subsidiary dial at XII, the movement with tapered plates united by four turned pillars, with maintaining power all wheels except the 'scape of five crossings, to a deadbeat escapement with long brass crutch with openwork terminal supporting the beat adjustment screw, the five rod gridiron pendulum (2 steel, 3 brass) suspended on a knife-edge set on the backboard and terminating in a 19cms diameter lenticular brass bob.
