SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 Ga. S# 703800. Bbl. 20" plain w/ ramp mounted bead front sight & cyl. bore. No visible choke marking. Left side near breech has inspector's mark "RMN". Top of bbl. & left side of frame are marked "US" followed by flaming bomb acceptance mark. Receiver is marked "MILITARY FINISH". Breech block is marked "THE SPORTSMAN" & is an apparent replacement. Recoil operated square stern action. Parkerized finish. Mag. tube has non standard 2 shot extension. Forearm is unusual finger groove style. Pistol grip stock has original buttplate. Left side has a crossed cannon ordnance mark followed by "FJA". Toeline of stock has open hole for sling attachment. CONDITION: 90% parkerized finish showing spots of freckling. Wood has good military finish showing marks & dents. Stock is cracked through head & wrist areas. Bore shows substantial fouling. (21-3371/DS). CURIO. $400-600.
