René Paul Marquet was a French sculptor. He studied with Émmanuel Fontaine and Alexandre Falguière at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. In 1909, at the Salon de la Société des Artistes Français, where he exhibited regularly, he showed a plaster statue of a Zuaven defending a flag with the dramatic title Jamais! (German Niemals!), for which he received an honourable mention and was elected a full member. He was known for his Art Nouveau and Art Deco statuettes.
