"REPEAL THE 18TH AMENDMENT", TIN DONKEY, SHOT DISPENSER, CIRCA 1930'S, H 9" L 9"

A tin donkey with a barrel on his back with an anti-prohibition slogan on the front and rear of the barrel. When you pull one of the ears forward the tail lifts. The barrel has a cork stopper at the top and a hole on the bottom, where there was originally a siphon hose for pouring whiskey into two shot glasses that would have been held in the two loops at the side of the donkey. This type of advertising donkey was used during the "1932" presidential campaign between Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Herbert Hoover. Prohibition was a major issue during the "1932" presidential campaign and Franklin Delano Roosevelt along with his running mate John Nance Garner ran on a platform to repeal it. This tin donkey is a rare piece of American History.
