EDMUNDS BURY A RARE GEORGE II BUR WALNUT MUSICAL LONGCASE CLOCK the arched hood with pierced frieze and brass strung reeded columns on a slender trunk with moulded edged bridge top door on a box base enclosing an unusual 14" arched brass dial with gilt spandrels and silvered chapter ring surrounding a matted centre with centre seconds above four subsidiary dials for calendar, Strike/Silent, music selector and Chime/Not Chime flanking an applied gilt mount depicting Old Father Time seated on a silvered plaque inscribed 'TEMPUS FUGIT' with the chapter ring above; the massive three train weight driven movement playing one of four tunes on ten bells via a large cylindrical pinwheel, the hours striking on a larger bell (237cm high)
