R.J. HORNER STYLE CARVED WOOD GRIFFIN PEDESTALS

Pair of American R.J. Horner style carved oak griffin pedestals or plant stands, late 19th century, having a seated griffin supporting a reeded sphere, and raised on a rectangular feet, apparently unmarked.

Approximate dimensions: h. 44.5", foot w. 11.25", foot d. 18.25".
Condition Report: One with dryness crack to stem and repaired wing, one with dryness crack to stem and to one wing, finish possibly refreshed, nail holes to the back of both figures perhaps indicating missing elements, both are structurally sound with wear typical of domestic use.
