R.M.S. TITANIC:
Superb 1:150 model of Titanic that featured in the 2011 Netflix series ‘Titanic Blood and Steel’. Shown over twelve parts Titanic: Blood & Steel is the untold story of the building of a legend, and the many lives it affected during its 3-year construction. “To its wealthy investors, it was a dream. To the middle class who oversaw the project, it was a challenge. But to the working class who built it, Titanic was the start of a revolution. With Ireland under British rule, and the Protestant and Catholic struggle intensifying, Titanic was more than a ship… it was a symbol of ambition, hope and unity” The fact that this model was used in a multi-million dollar Netflix production speaks volumes for its quality. It has resided in the private collection of Sir Anthony Jolliffe, ex-Lord Mayor of London, since its appearance on screen and is sold with a bespoke packing crate that guarantees its safety when moved. 70ins.
The model took over three years of painstaking research and four years to build.
Also included is a silk Guildhall Banquet menu which Margaret Thatcher attended as a guest speaker together with a hardback edition The Best of Britain a souvenir publication presented by the Lord Mayor of London 1982/1983.
