ROBED KLANSMAN STATUE
Rare chalkware statue of a Ku Klux Klan member fully dressed in robes and a hood, standing 16 in. tall. The left hand raised in salute is detachable. At the irregularly shaped base is the engraving ‘KIGY' which stands for ‘Klansman I Greet You'. The opposite side of the base reads ‘Copyright 1923'. A well-detailed statue showing the folds in the robe and cape, even depicting the rope belt. Some minor chips to the paint all over, which is faded a bit. These ceremonial statues were used for voting in new members. If the candidate was approved then the detachable arm would be attached, if rejected it would remain unattached.
