Artist/ School: Robert Bouille (French 1926-2021), signed, stamped verso This artist of Var origin studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris in the sculpture section before turning to painting. He explores the classic themes of ancient mythology and also gives us numerous representations of female figures, sometimes in a classic style, sometimes in a post-cubizing style. Title: Classical painting depicting Pegasus in a Provencal landscape, with onlooking female (an interpretation of Athena?) Medium: oil painting on canvas, unframed Size: canvas: 19.5 x 24 inches. Provenance: all the paintings we have for sale by this artist have come from the artists estate in France. Condition: The painting is in good condition, bar a tiny area of paint loss, a small area of craquelure that would benefit from a bit of tlc to the lower right hand side .
