ROBERT FRANK
1924-2019
'ST. LOUIS' (MISSISSIPPI RIVER)
gelatin silver print, signed, titled, and dated in ink in the margin, the photographer's archive and copyright stamps, with credit, title, date '1947,' and annotations in pencil and ink, on the reverse, 1948
image: 8¾ by 8⅞ in. (22.2 by 22.5 cm.)
Condition Report:
This print, on double-weight paper, is in generally excellent condition. There is an L-shaped crease extending horizontally from the center right margin edge and then vertically down through the image at the center right. This sharp crease may break the emulsion but is unobtrusive.
The title and date in the margin are slightly smudged. There is minor wear and creasing to the margin corners.
On the reverse, the archive stamp is annotated 'Lines 10 (variant)' and '877' in pencil. Also on the reverse '134,' 'PF30528H' and 'P' are written in an unidentified hand in pencil.
When examined under ultraviolet light, this photograph does not appear to fluoresce.
