ROCKINGHAM CO., SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA DECORATED STONEWARE DIMINUTIVE JAR, salt-glazed, approximately one-pint capacity, wide-mouth form with slightly rounded flat-top rim. Brushed cobalt upright feather decoration repeated three times. Probably Lindsey Morris (1817-1902), Lily site on Dry River (active circa 1872-1890); John D. Heatwole (1826-1907), Dry River Pottery (active circa 1850-1890); or Emanuel Suter (1833-1902), New Erection Pottery (1866-1890). Circa 1870. 4 5/8" H, 4" D rim.
Chip to base underside, otherwise undamaged.
