ROMANIAN CUGIR AES-10 SEMI AUTO 7.62X39 RIFLE

[ translate ]

SERIAL NUMBER: A51-01418-06. CALIBER: 7.62X39. The Romarm/Cugir AES-10 is a semi-automatic, long-barreled AK-pattern rifle chambered in 7.62x39mm that was produced by the Cugir Arms Factory in Romania and imported to the United States by CAI in limited quantities during the early 2000s. Built on a standard 1.0mm stamped receiver with standard AKM infantry sights rather than heavy-duty RPK components, this unique variant functions essentially as an extended-barrel WASR-10 dressed in the aesthetic silhouette of a squad automatic weapon. Its most defining and unusual feature is a factory barrel bipod that is clamped directly to a specialized, machined journal located mid-way down its 23-inch barrel, sitting tightly between the lower handguard and the gas block. While this mid-barrel mounting point was mechanically required to prevent muzzle droop on the rifle's standard-contour, thin barrel profile, the configuration creates a distinctive handling experience that balances rapid horizontal target tracking with the mechanical tendency to string shot groups if too much forward pressure is loaded into the bipod. It also features a threaded barrel, fine wood furniture and (1) 40 round metal magazine. CONDITION: Very Good. 98%. There are light handling / storage marks on metal surfaces as could be expected. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. Operates normally. MODERN 27-99
