Typed letter signed to Judge Alphonso T. Clearwater regarding the Board of Pardons. Oyster Bay: 20 August 1915. Single page typed letter signed in full "Theodore Roosevelt" on one sheet of "Oyster Bay/Long Island, N.Y." stationery, marked "Private" in type, with quotation marks and two words added in Roosevelt's hand. 7 5/8 x 6 1/2 inches (10/5 x 16.5 cm). Possibly trimmed, minor rust mark and soiling to left margin, with a dark signature.
Here Roosevelt writes to Judge Clearwater at the 1915 New York Constitutional Convention regarding the make up of the Board of Pardons. Roosevelt adds with an exclamation point that while he was in favor of a Board of Pardons "Now I follow you about it!"
