Mid Century Ross Gill (1887-1969) Tempera Painting Arctic Wild Rose. Professionally framed and double matted, measures 15"x18"x1". Weight 3 pds. Born in Beloit, KS in 1887 and Died in Bothell, WA in 1969. Painter in oil and watercolor, but most frequently painted in tempera. He was also a teacher who studied at the Chicago Art Institute and the Art Students League in NY. His paintings appeared on the cover of the Seattle Times Sunday Magazine in 1966,67. His old log home was the oldest in the Canyon Park area north of Seattle. He was an active member of the Puget Sound Group of Northwest Painters.His paintings were widely exhibited in WA, ID, and MT. He also frequented OR, CA, and AZ subject matter. He exhibited at the Seattle Art Museum, 1935-49. He had a solo show at the Boise Art Group in ID. His paintings were exhibited and sold through Frederick & Nelson, Little Gallery, Seattle. PROVENANCE: A Private Charleston SC Estate.
