ROYAL DOULTON PRINKNASH FIGURINE, SAINT BENEDICT

A rare figurine modeled for monks of Prinknash Priory.
This is a very rare Royal Doulton Prinknash figurine, modeled after Saint Benedict, the 6th century patron of monastic communities. Glazed with a rare lustre of green and cream with a raven near based, a reference to the legend of the saint and a helpful bird. Produced by Doulton on behalf of the Benedictine Monks of Prinknash Priory, Gloucestershire until 1945. Stamped DOULTON PAX with Keys mark to base.
