Self-taught, RS Artist is a young French artist born in Nice in the early 90s. A lawyer by training, he has been painting and drawing since a very young age and has since continued to explore multiple artistic fields.
RS Artist is part of this new generation of artists combining both Pop Art and Street Art, thus delivering us works full of color, a clever mix of performances, forces and life. What does the artist want to tell us, if not that we have to enjoy, live, try. . .
At a glance, what we notice about this artist's works is the amount of elements that compose them. No detail is left to chance, no space is left to be abandoned.
RS Artist generally strives to take images out of their initial context in order to construct a new composition that allows the viewer to enter this painting and forge his or her own story with regard to his or her sensitivity and imagination. Every symbol counts, the images and characters are carefully selected, from newspapers, posters or photographs, to allow the creation of meaning that is most relevant for the author but also for the viewer. In this way, he hijacks the image that we may have of these characters.
Thus, it is not a question of transforming the aesthetics of everyday life into a work of art but rather of demonstrating that art, consumer society and pop culture are on the same level and can coexist in a single image.
