RUBENS, Peter Paul (follower of) St Bonaventure Receiving Communion from the Hands of an Angel. 18th c Watercolour, 33,4 x 22,5 cm, laid paper, unsigned (several restored tears at St Francis' and the angel's bodies, backed with Japan paper). Although some figures are replaced, the overall composition of this scene heavily borrows from Rubens' depiction of the "Final communion of St Francis", a painting now in the collection of the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp (inv. 305).
