The Rudis Sylva RS23 Titanium Black DLC is one of the most interesting creations of modern independent watchmaking, blending revolutionary horological technology with a stunning contemporary aesthetic. Distinguished by the manufacture’s patented Harmonious Oscillator, the present timepiece is housed in a 44 mm Black DLC-coated titanium case accented with elegant pink gold details. The openworked dial unveils the technical sophistication of the invention and the exceptional hand-finishing of the proprietary manual-winding movement.
Time is displayed through a flame-blued central seconds hand together with sharply faceted hour and minute hands plated in 5N rose gold. Their openworked forms are inspired by the silhouette of the trees surrounding the small Swiss watchmaking village of Les Bois, where each Rudis Sylva timepiece is individually assembled by hand.
The twin hairsprings are hypnotic to watch as they ‘breathe’ in alternating rhythm, concealed within a pair of counter-rotating balance wheels, regulation being controlled by a single escapement. The oscillator, through a system of finely interleaved teeth, achieves near-instantaneous self-compensation and exceptional isochronism over the full 72-hour power reserve.
