RUSSIAN BRONZE ENAMEL ICON TIKHVIN MOTHER OF GOD

A Russian Orthodox icon of Mother of God with Jesus Child in Tikhvinskaya iconography encompassed with images of saints. Cast bronze, blue and white enamel. Each in character is named in Church Slavonic. Theotokos of Tikhvin is one of the most celebrated Orthodox Christian icons that is said to be one of the icons written by St. Luke the Evangelist.
