RARE RUSSIAN IMPERIAL HAND PAINTED CHRIST PORCELAIN EASTER EGG, 19th CENTURY
This set comprises a hand-painted porcelain Easter Egg featuring a scene of the Resurrection on the front and decorated with colorful flower paintings on the verso. It was created by the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory and has a hole both below and on the top.

PROVENANCE: 1. By origin, from a family of Russian emigrants in the second generation in Germany; 2. HISTORY of SALES: A few years ago, Russian porcelain eggs were sold on Live Auctioneers for $11,000 (11 years ago), $11,000 (15 years ago), $13,000 (15 years ago), and $14,600 (5 years ago) - please refer to the screenshots for details. Today, prices have significantly increased compared to those of 5-10 years ago.
WARRANTY: The buyer has 5 days to inspect items for originality, valued at up to $5,000, and 10 days for items valued at $5,000 or more. Items can be returned to the seller for a refund; please refer to the Terms for more details.
NO RESERVE: More than 70% of all auctioned items have NO reserve price. Among the remaining items, there is a very reasonable reserve price set.

As such, Easter eggs are common during the season of Eastertide (Easter season). The oldest tradition is to use dyed and painted chicken eggs, but a modern custom is to substitute chocolate eggs wrapped in colored foil, hand-carved wooden eggs, or plastic eggs filled with confectionery such as chocolate. However, real eggs continue to be used in Central and Eastern European tradition. Although eggs, in general, were a traditional symbol of fertility and rebirth, in Christianity, for the celebration of Eastertide, Easter eggs symbolize the empty tomb of Jesus, from which Jesus resurrected.
