RUSSIAN ORTHODOX MADONNA AND CHILD ICON, punched and repousse-decorated silvered-copper riza framing the painted surface featuring faces and hands, applied copper "halo" framing faces, Cyrillic lettering to cartouche centered under figures, painted/inked inscription to verso, board with notched back slats. 19th or 20th century. 15" x 12" OA.
Condition Report: Good condition overall, riza loose from board, expected wear, some splits or cracks to riza possibly from rubbing, small areas of wear to paint, board with normal warp and loss of one sliding batten.
