RUSSIAN POST WWII MOSIN NAGANT MODEL 1944 BOLT

ACTION MILITARY CARBINE. Cal. 7.62x54R. S# AH3167. S# matches on barrel and floorplate. Bbl. 20 1/4". Barrel is marked over chamber with "hammer and sickle in wreath" indicating manufactured at Izhevsk Arsenal. Also has "arrow in triangle", Izhevsk overhaul mark. Dated "1946". Tangent rear sight graduated to 1,000 meters. Post front sight with protective hood. Round receiver. Straight bolt handle. 12 1/4" blade folding spike bayonet. Cleaning rod is present. Unmarked hardwood stock set. Plain sling slots. Front slot has added metal protector. Green web sling with added wire swivels. CONDITION: stock set has well-worn original finish, with staining and numerous dents & scratches. Small crack on left side above trigger guard. Metal has 50% original blue finish with thinning and wear, plus spots of light oxidation. Very good, shiny bore with sharp lands. PROVENANCE: from The Collection of Gun Sport Ltd owned by Jon R.
