RUSSIAN SILVER & ENAMEL KOVSH MARIA SEMENOVA C. 1900. Comprising an interesting gilded silver and shaded cloisonné enamel kovsh, of stylized form, the low flat body with raised prow and unusual extended handle finishing with a curling hook, enameled with scrolling blue foliate ornament against an iron red ground, the base of the kovsh with a border of shaded green lappets, the end of the handle with similarly enameled green foliage, finished with a cable border. Hallmarked Moscow 1899-1908, Cyrillic maker's mark for Maria Semenova, and 84 standard. Length: 4.3 inches (11.1 cm).
