Linoleum cut on thin cream Japan paper, 1969. 273x483 mm; 10x19 inches, wide margins. Signed, titled, dated, inscribed "Lino-cut" and numbered 14/25 in pencil, lower left. A very good impression of this very scarce print, this linoleum cut by Ruth Waddy has been described as "one of the most important and influential pieces to come out of the Black Arts movement." An impression is illustrated in the 1969 Black Artists on Art, Volume I, edited by Samella Lewis and Waddy on p. 118. Waddy also edited the influential survey Prints by American Negro Artists published in 1965. De Graaf/Mulroy/Taylor p. 236.
