"Schwarm" (swarm) was born out of the designers' fascination with the diversity in collections of natural fauna. Within these collections, extremely small differences give rise to distinguish one animal from the other. To be able to study these differences, 'Schwarm' consists of 10 different types of beetles. Each model is glazed using ten or eleven different techniques. Viewing this collection is like a journey through time, a journey of discovery in the world of art and nature. This lot shows the beetle carabus auratus and is numbered 24 / 40. Ra. R was founded in 2010 by two German artists: Beate Reinheimer en Ulrike Rehm. Their work is exhibited all over the world and is in the permanent collection of Boymans van Beuningen, Rotterdam and Centraal Museum Utrecht. "Schwarm" is included in the permanent collection of Museum Princessehof Leeuwarden and Museum of Modern Art, Chicago, among others.
