Rachel Hartley Blessing Fleet Poss Tarpon Springs, American artist with strong ties to the Greek Orthodox sponge diving community of Tarpon Springs, FL, she was an early Florida Impressionist and the granddaughter of George Inness, Tarpon Springs was the residence and studio of George Inness, Jr. and we surmise the subject may be of Tarpon Springs, she is also associated with New York, Provincetown, Southampton Long Island, Montclair New Jersey, Charleston South Carolina, British Guiana and has works in Tallahassee, Fla. and Daytona Beach, Florida museums, interestingly Harley often sold her Florida paintings to New York and Boston audiences Ref Gary R Libby in AskArt, oil with pencil on board, 10 x 14 inches, 16.75 x 20.75 x 1.125 inches framed, signed lower right, pencil sketch and estate stamp verso. Modern frame. Provenance: Krassner Seymour Cooke Collection formerly of Kennebunkport, Maine, removed from their waterfront Southeast Florida estate in late 2021.
