Doll," boards and spines decoratively tooled in gilt and blind; text illustrated with portrait and twelve engravings "avant la lettre" by Moreau; some slight chipping to endcaps of volume one, rubbing, generally good, 8 x 5 in. (4)Jean-Frédéric Doll, Parisian bookbinder (born circa 1779) was active between 1808 and 1826. Working at the highest level, his clients included Napoléon and Marie-Louise.
